Your Library On-the-Go

Take the library with you anywhere using our new app, MyLIBRO. The MyLIBRO app puts your online library account just a tap away. You can:

  • Search the entire catalog. It’s easy to look up your favorite author or browse new arrivals for something interesting.
  • Place a hold request to pick up a desired item at your preferred branch.
  • Check the due dates of borrowed materials using “My Account” and renew the ones you want to keep out longer.
  • Add titles to the “Wishlist” feature, which syncs with your lists created on the website catalog.

MyLIBRO also includes some convenient account functions that are only available in the app:

  • Stay logged in after setup.
  • Show your library card barcode digitally to use in the library.
  • Add multiple library cards to the app so they’re all linked in one place.

If you already use the Libby or Hoopla apps offered by the library, MyLIBRO doesn’t replace these. All of the downloadable ebooks and audiobooks you love are still available on those apps with your library card. For added convenience, books from the library’s Libby selection are searchable in both apps, and these digital checkouts can be read directly within MyLIBRO.

Getting Started with the App

To start your MyLIBRO journey, download the app from your device’s app store. If you don’t see a link to your preferred store, you can search for MyLibro by name to find it.

After the App Is Installed

  • Find your library, type Lexington County Public Library in the search or use your phone’s location.
  • To sign in to MyLIBRO, you need the same information you use to log in to the library website:
    • Library card number.
    • Your pin or password (it says “Library Pin” but we allow either one). If you didn’t set a pin/password at sign-up, the default is the last four digits of your barcode.
  • Congratulations, you are now the active user on MyLIBRO. You can begin searching for library materials or managing your account right away.

Extra Tips for New App Users

  • If family members have library cards, MyLIBRO makes it easy to link multiple accounts together.
    • After the first person is logged in, swipe the active user display to the left. This shows the “Add Library Card” option.
    • You will need the library card number plus pin or password for other accounts you wish to add.
    • Activate any linked account to see that person’s borrowed items or place hold requests.
  • The “Home” and “Search” view always display at the bottom to easily use all functions.
  • “Search” is similar to using the online library catalog.
    • Check to see what the library has by looking up a keyword, title, author or subject.
    • Additional search options provide filters that help find only the results you want, such as choosing to see only books or videos.
  • “Home” displays your account, browsable categories and other helpful library information.

If you need assistance with MyLIBRO or any of the library’s digital offerings, visit your local library branch, email us or chat with one of our library staff with the Ask a Librarian service.
