The Mobile Library makes weekly scheduled stops throughout Lexington County — preschools, after-school programs, retirement communities, senior and assisted living facilities. Anyone is welcome to visit us at any of our stops. The Mobile Library also makes special appearances throughout the county — parades, community events of all sizes, festivals and more. When you see the Mobile Library, stop by and say hi, check out some books or DVDs, use the wifi and download that cool game you’ve been wanting to play, print off that recipe you’ve been dying to try or just take a tour of our library on wheels.

If you have limited mobility, impaired vision or any other type of disability (temporary or permanent), Materials by Mail can help. We offer a free service that makes it easy for you to access library resources delivered straight to your mailbox.

Yes, you can return Mobile Library items to any of our 10 Lexington County Library locations. If you need to return items that you checked out at one of our branches, we can accept them on the bus, too.
All Mobile Library items have up to 6 automatic renewals at 3 weeks per renewal.

Our library is now fine free, so if you return your library materials on our next visit you will not be charged any fines. As Mobile Library Manager, Melaney Torcoletti is not only responsible for the Mobile Library (our bookmobiles), she also manages Materials by Mail and Home Delivery Services programs. Torcoletti brings 10 years of experience to this role, leading a team that makes weekly scheduled stops throughout Lexington County.

If you have limited mobility, impaired vision or other disability, we have a service that makes getting library materials effortless and totally free — it’s called Materials by Mail. So, you can get all the books, movies and more you want without ever having to leave the house.
And returning your Materials by Mail is a breeze — drop them in your mailbox, take them to a Post Office (no postage needed) or return them to any Lexington County Library branch or book drop. This service is available all year long, so you can always get reading materials delivered right to you.
