The Mobile Library makes weekly scheduled stops throughout Lexington County — preschools, after-school programs, retirement communities, senior and assisted living facilities. Anyone is welcome to visit us at any of our stops. The Mobile Library also makes special appearances throughout the county — parades, community events of all sizes, festivals and more. When you see the Mobile Library, stop by and say hi, check out some books or DVDs, use the wifi and download that cool game you’ve been wanting to play, print off that recipe you’ve been dying to try or just take a tour of our library on wheels.

Materials by Mail

If you have limited mobility, impaired vision or any other type of disability (temporary or permanent), Materials by Mail can help. We offer a free service that makes it easy for you to access library resources delivered straight to your mailbox.

The Mobile Library visits a variety of locations across Lexington County to deliver materials and services where they’re needed most. Scheduled stops often include daycares and senior centers. If you’re out and about, drop by.

The only difference is that the library comes to you. And the only thing you need to check out materials is a library card. For more information, call at (803) 785-2674 or send us an email.

Yes, you can return Mobile Library items to any of our 10 Lexington County Library locations. If you need to return items that you checked out at one of our branches, we can accept them on the bus, too.
All Mobile Library items have up to 6 automatic renewals at 3 weeks per renewal.
No problem. Give us a call at (803) 785-2674, email us, or place your holds online through our website and choose Bookmobile as your pick-up branch.
Our library is now fine free, so if you return your library materials on our next visit you will not be charged any fines. If you'd prefer not to wait, we have 10 library branches across Lexington County — check out the list to find the location closest to you. Borrowing Material

No borrowing limits. Up to six automatic renewals. Return items to any branch or Mobile Library. Ask us about Interlibrary Loans if we don't have something.

Reading Recommendations

Get a personalized reading list created just for you. Titles can be pick up at the Mobile Library or we'll schedule them for Home Delivery or Materials by Mail.

Fine Free

We’re happy to offer complete access to our library — without late fees. Enjoy free access to books, audiobooks, digital downloads, magazines, music and more.

Internet Access (WiFi)

Stay connected with free WiFi access. This convenient service helps keep you connected and allows you to stay up-to-date on all the latest resources we have to offer.

As Mobile Library Manager, Melaney Torcoletti is not only responsible for the Mobile Library (our bookmobile), she also manages Materials by Mail and Home Delivery Services programs. Torcoletti brings seven years of experience to this role, leading a team that makes weekly scheduled stops throughout Lexington County.

If you have limited mobility, impaired vision or other disability, we have a service that makes getting library materials effortless and totally free — it’s called Materials by Mail. So, you can get all the books, movies and more you want without ever having to leave the house.

And returning your Materials by Mail is a breeze — drop them in your mailbox, take them to a Post Office (no postage needed) or return them to any Lexington County Library branch or book drop. This service is available all year long, so you can always get reading materials delivered right to you.
