South Carolina Department of Disabilities & Special Needs

The SC Department of Disabilities and Special Needs, as defined in the South Carolina Code of Law, serves persons with intellectual disability, autism, traumatic brain injury and spinal cord injury and conditions related to each of these four disabilities. The mission of the South Carolina Developmental Disabilities Council is to provide leadership in planning, funding, and implementing initiatives that lead to improved quality of life for people with developmental disabilities and their families through advocacy, capacity building, and systemic change.
