The countdown for Summer Reading has officially begun. We’re ready to blast off into a Universe of Stories and endless possibilities. Start logging reading on June 1, join in the fun at Launch Parties and register today. Summer Reading isn’t just for kids. Adult participants are entered to win weekly prizes at their local branch. 

Summer Reading helps build literacy and language skills, prevents the dreaded summer slide for school-aged children, encourages teens and adults to experience the joy of reading and so much more. As you make plans this summer, don’t forget to stop by the library to check out books or attend a program and pick up coupons to Cici’s Pizza and Texas Roadhouse. Children and teen prizes are sponsored by Bojangles, Chick-fil-a, Lexington County Blowfish, Publix and Sign Gypsies.

This year’s theme is a Universe of Stories. As you make plans, don’t forget to stop by the library each week for exciting activities for all ages. Our programs are designed to launch lifelong learning with author talks, nutritional workshops, yoga and more. Children can look forward to favorites like Chad Crews, Porkchop Productions and Professor Whizzpop while adults have bestselling authors Kristy Woodson Harvey and Patti Callahan Henry.
