Chef Chris Williams will share his impressive journey with us — from growing up on a farm in Olar, SC while learning the fine art of frying chicken and making the perfect pot of rice with his grandparents to finally realizing a long-standing dream, years in the making.
Chef Williams developed a longing to craft comfort foods reminiscent of those he enjoyed as a child. And in 2014, he opened the well-loved Roy’s Grille inside a Lexington gas station. The restaurant is named in honor of his grandfather and inspired by his grandmother’s kitchen ethic. His winning formula combines family tradition with a dedication to locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch food.
This aesthetic won him the honor of being named a 2022 South Carolina Chef Ambassador. This prestigious recognition is awarded to chefs who promote South Carolina’s culinary heritage and local culture through their cooking. At this exciting program, we will get the opportunity to sample some of the very recipes that have made Chef Williams so popular — pulled pork nachos, smokehouse egg rolls, seafood pasta salad and blueberry peach cobbler.
Seating and samples are limited to the first 50 registrants. Call or click below to register.
